Many thanks to Mitzi Ruth, Kit Parker and the many other parent volunteers who helped made our Enchanted Forest Book Fair a big success. Thanks to our wonderful teachers who made book recommendations. We are also very grateful to all our parents who supported our book fair with purchases. Students were super excited over the selection of books. Proceeds from the fair are helping fund our much needed new shelving for our expanding picture book collection.

Clifford the Big Red Dog made several guest appearances to greet ELC and LP students during morning traffic. Level 7’s have adopted a new tradition of dressing up along with escorting our reading mascot during book fair week. We hope to have Pete the Cat or Dog Man visit us this spring!

Early Learning Center
ELC had fun doing an Alphabet Search in the “Everybody” picture book collection. They had to discover books by authors who had the same letter as the beginning of their last name. They have also enjoyed exploring our many holiday book selections!

Lower Primary and Middle Primary
LP and MP completed the Global Read Aloud book titled A Boy Called Bat by Elana K. Arnold. The book inspired a project researching and comparing different mammals using World Book on the Tennessee Electronic Library www.tel4u.org, the British Natural History website www.Arkive.org along with printed books in our reference and nonfiction collections.

Upper Primary
UP completed the read aloud A Long Walk To Water by Linda Sue Parks. Students are now researching and comparing different countries on the African Continent.
