Stanyarne Burrows Jr. Library
The St Nicholas School Stanyarne Burrows Library supports the needs of teachers and provides an atmosphere where information skills, inquiry and information literacy are emphasized. We seek to develop independent learners and life-long readers who contribute positively to the school and our global community.
The Burrows Library collection includes approximately 9000 books and also supports digital literacy with 12 iPads that are available for use during library classes. Our catalog, Alexandria allows students to search the collection by AR level, Award Winners, New Books as well as by author, title and subject. In addition, a variety of databases, periodicals and reference resources are available.

How many books can my child check out at one time?
Early Learning Center: 1 book
Primary Levels 3 through 7:
When are the books due to be returned?
All books are checked out for one week. A book may also be renewed for an additional week.
What happens if a book is overdue?
A student must return their library book before checking out another one. If the student cannot check out a new book, they are encouraged to make a new selection that will be placed on hold shelf in library. The Burrows Library does not charge overdue fines.
What if my child has lost their book?
If a book is lost, please contact the librarian, Wendy Wilkins. Once the book is reported lost, your student will be able to check out again. Your school account will be charged for the replacement copy.
When can my child check out?
A student may check out during their weekly scheduled library class. In addition, students may select books before morning chapel on Wednesday through Friday, or when the classroom teachers allows a visit the library.
